About Collage Congo

My name is Joyce and I own Elliebelly, which opened on the web in 2001. I have been married for almost twenty years and have four children, who share my love of art and crafting. I am a collage artist, working primarily on paper and fabric, and have close to a decade of experience in dyeing fabric and fiber. Here at collage, I plan on offering hand-dyed yarns and playsilks. In addition, I plan on following my muse and bringing you wearable art like bags, clothing, and other bits of creative whimsy. You can see what is going on in my studio by reading my blog.

Hi, I'm Jennifer of FancyBeehive and I like working with my hands. I have been doing knit, crochet and sewing since I was 5 or 6, and have
been busy with handiwork off and on ever since. My more recent interests include silk batik, which intersects creatively with the
watercolor painting I have done intermittently for the past two decades. I am also working with collage, paper-making, book-making
and related crafts. I am excited to be part of a congo in which I can offer the items that command my interest at the moment, and I
look forward to the creative inspiration that comes from this community!
I live in Birmingham, Alabama with my husband of 12 years and two delightful children. You can see my creative work 'du jour' at my
blog, http://jenniferathome.typepad.com.

Welcome to WoolCreations at Collage! My name is Annette and I am the owner of WoolCreations Inc. I have been happily married for 25 years and have 3 children and 1 grandchild. I am a fiber artist and doll maker and have been for many years. When my first child was born 22 years ago I created my first doll and ever since then I was hooked on fiber. I developed new skills and found fiber the material to be the one I wanted to work with. At Collage I want to offer and develop new ideas and create unique usable art. My name is Julie and I am the heart of Red Hen Studios. My business derived its name from the collection of ceramic chickens and roosters passed on to me from my grandmother. From her, and other relatives of that generation, l got my passion for crafting, collecting and letting nothing go to waste.
I live in my hometown in upstate NY with my husband of 16 years and our four sons. Come read about our busy household at my blog, http://redhenstudios.blogspot.com.
Before Kids (B.K.), I was a graphic designer who dabbled in photography and crafts. Now most of my creative time is devoted to photography and crafts. I especially like creative upcycling of vintage fabrics, household items and architectural salvage, most of which I find while thrifting. I still dabble in graphic design – it is so much easier and much more fun than in the old days of paste-up and the early Macs.

We are a small, mama-owned family business and are wholly and absolutely committed to providing fabulous and special products for you, while keeping with our goal of being eco-friendly and promoting Fair Trade. We extend those goals to our home life, as well, where we raise and homeschool our 3 wee boys in a straw bale house, make and use bio-diesel and take care of a growing troupe of animals, including free-ranging chickens and 2 alpacas.
In the past 6 years, I search the world over for the very best raw materials that comprise my earth-respecting, skin-loving products. Researching for my products has only bolstered my desire to work with all-natural ingredients. As I read about the origins of my ingredients, I'm transported to far-away lands, filled with beautiful people, scents and tastes. For example, I truly love reading about geranium essential oil from Egypt or Madagascar, tangerine essential oil from Italy, shea butter from Africa and so on. Men and women from all over the world have given of their time and energy to harvest these precious botanicals. How very blessed I am to be able to express my love of the earth and it's inhabitants with these very, very special ingredients.
What you will not find in Whimsical Earth products:
* Artificial fragrances (Fragrance oils). Something entirely created in a lab just doesn't have the same character and quality and appeal as nature's own special gifts.
* Animal products (we don't test on animals, either)
* Petroleum byproducts, mineral oil, fillers, thickeners, stretchers, and other artificial chemicals used to emulsify and assist in evaporation and texture.
What you will find:
Decadent skincare that is amazingly effective. Far less complicated than products containing the ingredients mentioned above, each item is exquisitely formulated and brimming with the best nature has to offer.
